COZUMEL MARKET-TO-TABLE MAYAN RANCH EXPERIENCE

Experience a side of Cozumel most cruise visitors never get to see.

This private four-hour experience takes you from Cozumel’s local Mercado to a rustic island ranch, where you’ll shop, taste, cook, and eat alongside Marte, a local Mayan host.

 

​9:30 AM — Private Cruise Port  or resort Pickup

Your private transportation will meet your group at your cruise ship port, resort, or vacation place and take you into San Miguel to Cozumel’s traditional local Mercado in Centro, Cozumel.

Shop the Local Mercado with your Guide: 
Approx. 45 minutes

This isn’t a staged tourist market visit. You’ll shop where Cozumel locals shop. Together we’ll select the fresh fish and ingredients for your lunch, visiting local vendors and learning a little about the foods and ingredients used in everyday island cooking. While at the Mercado, we’ll also stop at the local buffet area in the back for a small taco tasting before continuing to the ranch.  Included.

From the Market to Marte’s Place : 

After buying everything for lunch, your private transportation will take you to Marte’s restaurant. This is where the experience becomes especially memorable. The property has a wonderful rustic, local atmosphere and is home to goats, ducks, horses, chickens, and other ranch animals. Marte is Mayan, and this is an opportunity to spend time with a local host and experience a part of Cozumel that most visitors never encounter.

Cook Our Fresh Fish on the Outdoor Ranch Grill: 

Now we cook what we just bought!
The fresh fish and vegetables selected at the Mercado will be prepared at the ranch on the outdoor grill and enjoyed together. The restaurant has a full-service bar and restrooms, free WiFi, so although the setting feels wonderfully rustic and authentic, you’ll still have the conveniences you need.

 

*Your experience also includes one freshly prepared Paloma drink per person.

Optional Horse Experience
Horses are located at the ranch. If anyone would like to add a horse activity, that can be arranged separately and is not included in the $119 tour price.
