Best Beach Clubs in Cozumel 2026: A Local’s Guide

One of the questions I hear all the time is:

“Cindy, what is the best beach club in Cozumel?”

After living full-time in Cozumel for 19 years, my answer is always the same:

It depends on what kind of beach day you want!

The best beach club for a family with children may be completely different from the one I’d recommend for a couple looking for a quiet Caribbean afternoon. Some visitors want an all-inclusive with unlimited food and drinks. Others want great snorkeling, a beautiful pool, water toys or simply a comfortable lounger and really good food.

And here’s something important before we start:

I’m including them because this is a local guide, and I want you to know your options

whether I sell them or not.

So let’s find YOUR best Cozumel beach club.

Paradise Beach

Best for: Families, pools, water activities and an all-day resort-style experience.  Cindy’s Local Tip:  One of the only pools in Cozumel that’s heated, and you’ll thank me later!

Paradise Beach is one of Cozumel’s most established and popular beach clubs. It has a huge pool, beach, restaurants, bars and the famous inflatable water park.

It’s a great choice when different people in your group want different things to do.

Cindy’s Local Tip: One of my favorite things about Paradise Beach is the heated pool during our cooler winter months. Book directly through Paradise Beach well in advance during busy cruise season. Popular days can sell out, and your choice of daybeds may become limited.

I also think they have some of the best beach-club food on the island, along with friendly servers and welcoming staff.

The inflatables are fun for many ages, although I wouldn’t choose Paradise Beach specifically for snorkeling.

Couples can also find a little more privacy with some of the daybed options.

Mr. Sanchos

Best for: All-inclusive fun, groups and cruise visitors.

Mr. Sanchos is probably one of the most recognizable names among Cozumel cruise visitors.

If your idea of a beach day is eating, drinking, swimming and having everything in one place, this is the type of experience Mr. Sanchos is known for.

It’s lively, popular and can be busy when several cruise ships are in port.

Cindy’s Local Tip: Know yourself! If you love energy and activity, this may be exactly what you’re looking for. If your dream Cozumel day is quiet, peaceful and uncrowded, keep reading.

Buccanos

Best for: Couples, food, snorkeling and a more sophisticated beach day.

Buccanos is a longtime favorite in Cozumel’s northern hotel zone and one of my personal favorites.

You have a beach, pool, good snorkeling and excellent food all in one location.

It feels different from the large south-side cruise-oriented beach clubs and can be a wonderful choice for couples or visitors staying on the island.

Cindy’s Local Tip: Come hungry. Buccanos is one of those places where I wouldn’t treat lunch as an afterthought.

Nachi Cocom

Best for: Visitors who want an all-inclusive experience with a more relaxed atmosphere.

Nachi Cocom has long been popular with cruise visitors looking for an alternative to some of Cozumel’s larger, busier all-inclusive clubs.  It’s a 4 course meal and all you can drink!

Capacity is intentionally limited, which is a big part of its appeal.

Cindy’s Local Tip: If avoiding huge crowds is high on your list, look at clubs that limit daily attendance rather than assuming every all-inclusive beach club offers the same experience.

Chankanaab

Best for: Families, snorkeling and visitors who want more than just a beach.

Chankanaab is different from a traditional beach club because it’s part of a marine park.

You can snorkel, enjoy the beach and explore other areas of the park, making it especially useful for families or groups where everyone doesn’t want to spend the entire day lying on the beach.

Cindy’s Local Tip: I particularly like Chankanaab for mixed groups. One person can snorkel while another relaxes, and there’s enough to explore that you don’t necessarily feel like you’re sitting in one place all day.

Look at The Cabana Beach which is located inside the park but a separate private entrance you’ll see them in Google search.   This is an amazing experience of large Private cabanas.

Sky Reef

Best for: Snorkeling and a casual beach-club stop.

Sky Reef is particularly popular with visitors interested in snorkeling directly from shore.

The coastline is rocky rather than a huge stretch of soft sand, but those underwater rocks and reef formations are exactly what attract marine life.

Cindy’s Local Tip: If snorkeling is your priority, don’t automatically choose the beach club with the prettiest sandy beach. Beautiful sand and great snorkeling don’t always occur in the same place!

Cabana Beach

Best for: Couples, small groups and visitors who want privacy.

Cabana-style experiences appeal to visitors who want their own space rather than rows of loungers.

This can be a particularly nice choice for couples, celebrations or a group that wants to spend the day together without feeling like they’re in the middle of a huge beach crowd.

Cindy’s Local Tip: If you’re celebrating a birthday, anniversary or special occasion, spending a little more for private space can completely change the feel of your beach day.

KUZA

Best for: Visitors looking for a newer, polished beach experience.

KUZA is one of the newer names in Cozumel’s beach-club scene and offers a more curated resort-style experience.

Different packages and experiences may be available, so compare exactly what’s included rather than looking only at the initial price.

Cindy’s Local Tip: Cozumel’s beach clubs change constantly. Packages, inclusions and prices can change even within the same season. Always check the club’s current information before arriving. This you can book on FlipToursCozumel.com

Punta Sur

Best for: Nature, beautiful scenery and people who want to experience Cozumel beyond a traditional beach club.

Punta Sur isn’t really a “beach club” in the traditional sense—and that’s exactly why I’m including it.

It’s an ecological park at the southern end of the island with a gorgeous beach, lighthouse, lagoon and wildlife.

If you want your beach day to include seeing more of Cozumel, this is one of my favorite options.

Cindy’s Local Tip: Don’t rush Punta Sur. This isn’t where I’d go for two hours in a lounger. Give yourself time to explore the park and enjoy the journey.  Taxis must stay with you.

Del Mar Latino Beach Club

Best for: Adults, couples, small groups, cruise passengers and anyone wanting a quieter all-inclusive experience.

Del Mar Latino is a little different from Cozumel’s big-name beach clubs — and that’s exactly what makes it appealing.

This is an adults-only, all-inclusive beach club with very limited daily capacity, so it offers a much smaller and more personal atmosphere than the large beach clubs that can accommodate hundreds of cruise passengers.

There’s an infinity pool overlooking the Caribbean, loungers and umbrellas, open bar, and hot and cold snacks served à la carte. You can also get directly into the Caribbean for snorkeling.

One thing visitors should understand: this isn’t a big sandy-beach experience. You’re right on the beautiful Caribbean waterfront with ocean access, but if your dream is a long stretch of white sand, I’d choose another beach club.

What Del Mar Latino DOES have going for it is location.

It’s extremely convenient for cruise passengers docking at the International Pier or Puerta Maya. Del Mar Latino is located just north of those cruise terminals, across from

Casa del Mar, making it possible for many passengers to walk rather than take a taxi.

Cindy’s Local Tip: I would put Del Mar Latino high on the list for adults who tell me, “We don’t want a huge party beach club. We just want somewhere small where we can relax, have some drinks, eat, swim and enjoy the Caribbean.”  Limited to 45 people.

It’s also a great option when you don’t want to spend part of your short cruise day riding back and forth in a taxi.

Because they intentionally keep the number of guests limited, reserve directly with Del Mar Latino ahead of time rather than assuming you’ll be able to walk in.

And remember — this is one of the beach clubs I recommend simply because I think visitors should know about their options. FlipToursCozumel does not book Del Mar Latino, so you’ll want to reserve directly with the beach club.

Which Cozumel Beach Club Is Best for You?

Here’s my quick local guide:

Families with children: Paradise Beach or Kuza

All-inclusive & lively: Mr. Sanchos or Paradise Beach Club

All-inclusive but more relaxed: Nachi Cocom

Food & couples: Buccanos and great food

Snorkeling: Sky Reef, Buccanos or Chankanaab

Privacy: Cabana Beach one of my favorites

Nature & scenery: Punta Sur

Something newer: KUZA and a option for cielo from Kuza a short boat from Kuza to cielo so you can combine the day!  This is on FlipToursCozumel.com

And remember, there isn’t one beach club that’s “best” for everyone.

Do You Need to Reserve a Cozumel Beach Club Before Your Cruise?

During our busy season, yes, I recommend it for the most popular clubs.

Cozumel can have several large cruise ships in port on the same day. That’s thousands of visitors deciding what to do during roughly the same hours.  Especially Mr. Sanchos and

Paradise Beach

Some beach clubs limit attendance, while desirable cabanas, daybeds and other premium areas can sell out.

If there’s one particular place you absolutely want to visit, don’t wait until you step off the ship to start planning.

A Beach Club or a Cozumel Tour?

Here’s another question I get frequently.

If this is your first visit to Cozumel and you only have one day, think about what you’ll remember most.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with spending the day at a beach club. Sometimes a pool, a margarita and the Caribbean are exactly what you need!

But Cozumel is also home to spectacular reefs, El Cielo, sea turtles, Punta Sur, Passion Island and so many experiences you can’t have back home.

You can also combine experiences.

Spend part of your day exploring Cozumel and part of it relaxing by the water.

Cindy’s Local Tip: Don’t try to cram five activities into a six-hour cruise stop. Cozumel is supposed to be fun! Choose one main experience, leave yourself some breathing room and ALWAYS know your ship’s time versus Cozumel local time.

One Last Local Tip
