If someone in your group has limited mobility, uses a wheelchair or scooter, or simply can’t walk long distances, ask before assuming an excursion won’t work for you.

This is something that’s especially important in Cozumel and something visitors planning months ahead may not think about.

We’re an island, and weather matters.

Wind and marine conditions can affect snorkeling, boating and other water excursions.

When conditions look questionable, we can communicate with you and, when possible, look at alternatives or rescheduling.

If you’re staying in Cozumel for several days, don’t automatically schedule your most weather-dependent excursion for your last day.

Give yourself some flexibility.

If Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate, having another available day can make the difference between missing El Cielo altogether and simply moving your trip.

So, Should You Book Through the Cruise Line or Independently?

There isn’t one correct answer for everybody.

Consider booking through your cruise line if you’re a first-time cruiser, you’re particularly nervous about port-day logistics, or the convenience of having everything arranged through the cruise company is more important to you than group size, flexibility or price.

Consider booking independently if you want smaller groups, private options, more choices, direct local knowledge, greater flexibility or a more personalized experience of Cozumel.

Whichever way you book, do your homework.

Read recent reviews. Ask questions. Check exactly what’s included. Understand the cancellation policy. And make sure the operator regularly works with cruise passengers.

A cheap excursion isn’t a bargain if it’s not the right experience for your family.
